A super easy mix for delicious scones
An easy to use mix for scrumptious afternoon tea scones. Close your eyes, you are in a thatched tearoom in Somerset, sipping Earl Grey.
You just need to add 45ml oil and 150ml plant based milk. The mix contains some egg replacer but to make your scones extra fluffy, you can also add your own egg replacer or favourite ingredient.
Ingredients: Gluten free self-raising flour (rice, potato, tapioca, maize & buckwheat), raising agents (mono-calcium phosphate, sodium bicarbonate), thickener (xanthan gum), coconut blossom sugar, buckwheat flour (8%), raising agents (mono-calcium phosphate, corn starch, sodium bicarbonate), egg replacer (potato flour, tapioca flour, cream of tartar, xanthan gum, methylcellulose) potato starch, tapioca flour, xanthan gum.
Allergy Advice: no known allergens
- Preheat oven to 230°C for conventional oven | 220° fan assisted oven | gas mark 7.
- Empty the contents of your Free and Easy scone mix into a mixing bowl, addthe vegan milk and oil (and extra egge replacer if you wish), then stir until combined.
- Turn dough out onto a lightly dusted surface and roll with a lightly dusted rolling pin until dough is of about 2cm in thickness. Cut into desired shapes.
- Place scones on prepared baking sheet and brush with milk. Place in the oven and bake for about 10 minutes. When they are ready, they will have a golden brown appearance and sound hollow when their base is tapped. Allow to cool, and enjoy smothered in vegan butter and/ or your favourite jam!
