A hearty new seitan roast that smells like Christmas! Handmade by Aisling of Thanks Plants! based in Dublin, this 1kg roast will impress your guests this Christmas! A beautiful Festive Roast with a gourmet stuffing of mushrooms, chestnuts and cranberries and a meaty, carvable exterior made from seitan, cannellini beans, pearl barley, vegetables and herbs. Hand-made in Ireland.
Serve with oven roasted potatoes, or a potato and pumpkin gratin for exemple.

Serves 4/5 people

Ingredients: Seitan Flour (wheat), Mushrooms (15.3%), Onions, Water, Cannellini Beans, Celery, Pearl Barley, Chestnuts (4.2%). Dijon Mustard (sulphites). Rapeseed Oil, Dried Cranberries (2.1%), Garlic, Apple Cider Vinegar, Salt, Black pepper, Herbs.

Directions:
Preheat the oven to 180°c or 350° f.
Remove the Festive Roast from the vacuum pack. Place the roast upside-down on a tray (a bread tin also works well) and baste all of the roast with half of the glaze.
Cover loosely with cooking parchment (itself wrapped in foil if you wish, but not in direct contact with the roast ;) ) and place in the preheated oven. After 25 mins, flip the roast over and baste with the remaining glaze. Cook for another 25-30 mins with the paper remaining in place.
Total cooking time is 50 - 55 mins.

Ingredients:
Easy Maple Glaze
1 tbsp olive oil
2 tbsp soya sauce
2 tbsp maple syrup

 
Lemon Thyme Glaze
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp lemon juice
Zest of 1/2 lemon
8 sprigs of fresh thyme
Pinch salt and pepper

Garlic Dijon Glaze
3 cloves garlic, chopped finely
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp dijon mustard
1 tbsp maple syrup

 
Glaze method : Whisk together with a fork until all the ingredients are combined. It's ready to put on your roast before cooking!
